    Advantages:

    Laser Activated Additive for the plastic molding process that prints in black ink on a variety of light and dark colored molded plastics. LazAct is a permanent marking plastic additive for Nd:YAG & Fiber Laser Marking. In master batch pellet concentrate in a variety of plastic options. Introduce 2% to 4% LDR of this granulated masterbatch in your molding process, depending on contrast requirements.

    Our laser marking additives can be used in polyolefins like PP, HDPE, PS, ABS, PC, TPU, PET, PBT, Nylon, PVC and TPE etc. along with other resins for marking with variety of different lasers like 1064 nm Nd:YAG-Laser, fiber laser and solid state lasers.  Our specialty compounds have the ability to deliver an excellent mark for both transparent and non-transparent plastics.

    FAQs

    • How to use Aerosol Spray Can?

      Easy 5 Step Process for Aerosol Can Application and marking:


      1- Clean: Wipe the substrate with alcohol so it's free of dirt and oil.


      2- Spray: Shake well for a minute.Hold it at about 45 degrees and about 5 to 7 inches away from the substrate.Spray just like a paint spray can. Make sure its a well ventilated area or use a spray booth with exhaust fan, especially if working on a large surface. No need to overspray. 


      3- Dry: Use a Hair dryer to dry it in seconds.


      4- Mark: 


      Must be dry.


      Your laser must be in focus.


      Result will be as good as a graphic.


      5- Wash: Rinse or wipe with a wet cloth. No need to wait after marking.

    • Minimum Watts required for Fiber or CO2 Laser

      Our products are a perfect solution to mark on a variety of different substrates with a CO2 or Fiber laser/Yag laser. Our general recommendation is 25-30 watts minimum for a CO2 laser and 10 watt minimum for a Fiber Laser.

    • Suggest Speeds and Power Settings

      Fiber Laser:

      Power =10 Watt 

      Speed = 50 mm/sec

      Q-Frequency 200-500 (500KHz gives the best result, But some fiber lasers only go up to 200 KHz)

      Hatch or DPI  = 0.1 mm


      CO2 Laser: 

      LASER MAKE:  Boss, AP Lazer, Thunder, K40, StyleCNC,Hans Laser Glowforge, BeamBox , Epilog, Trotec,Universal etc.


      General Metals (Tool steel, Stainless,Mild steel etc)

      Power = 30 to 100 watt

      Speed = 10% to 30%  

      Speed = 100 to 300 mm/sec

      DPI = 600

      Jarvis Type image tone (optional)


      Aluminum:

      Power = 30 to 100 watt

      Speed = 1% to 5%  

      Speed = 50 to 100 mm/sec

      DPI = 600

      Jarvis Type image tone (optional)


      Brass, Copper and other similar high heat conducting metals:

      Power = 30 to 100 watt

      Speed = 3% to 10%  

      Speed = 75 to 150 mm/sec

      DPI = 600

      Jarvis Type image tone (optional)


      Above are very general settings, you may have to try and tweak your settings according to your laser type, make, metal tube or glass tube and the age of laser. It also depends on the substrate and its grade.

      Our current offering for metal markings is black. However our team is working on colors including white and copper red which will be launched soon.

    • How Plastics Laser Inks Work?

      Plastic Laser Marking additives Must involve Injection molding or extrusion process and can work only with Fiber and Yag lasers.

      It is NOT something you can apply on pre-existing plastic parts and mark with laser. It has to be processed with molding. Lazact Black or Lazact white is available in master batch form (small plastic granules) which can be mixed with your resin at 2-5% LDR by weight of the molding shot. The molding machine screw then mixes it with your resin in the barrel at 200 to 400 F and is then injected in your steel mold at a high pressure.
