Note: These are just general guidelines, and settings may vary depending on the laser you are using and the substrate you have for marking.
The above test was performed on:
  • Creality Diode laser
  • Max Wattage: 40 watt
  • Speed unit in mm/m ( Millimeters per Minutes)

The above test table settings were generated by using a 40W Diode Laser, please make sure these specifications match with your laser otherwise check your laser specifications and make sure the resultant wattage at 10% as noted in the above table for Ceramics matches your final settings to get the same result

For Example:
10% of 40 watt = 4 watt
20% of 20 watt = 4 watt

Quick Guide

  • 1. Application of Laser Marking Ink

Ensure the metal surface is uncoated, clean, and dust-free. Apply Brilliance laser inks in a thin, even layer for consistent results. For larger areas, use a spray from 15-30 cm away for full coverage. Thicker layers yield darker marks. Adjust contrast by varying layer thickness. Before the ink dries, tap the work surface edge to settle the ink. Reactivate dried ink in tools and containers with solvent for reuse.

  • 2. Drying Time

The ink will dry naturally as the alcohol-based solvent evaporates. The drying time varies based on temperature and the thickness of the layer. To expedite the drying process, you can use a hot air gun or blow dryer. Ensure that the entire layer is dry, not just the visible top surface. Additionally, warm substrates can be laser marked, and in some cases, this may even enhance the quality of the laser marks.

  • 3. Laser Marking and Settings

Utilize the table below to calculate and adjust the laser start settings based on your laser's power (W) and speed (m/s). We suggest beginning with adjustments to speed and power before proceeding to other parameters such as PPI, DPI, and laser beam focus, if needed. The final settings will depend on the type, age, and power of your laser, as well as the metal alloy you plan to mark. Once you achieve satisfactory results, be sure to save these settings for future use.

  • 4. Cleaning Excess Ink

Removing unmarked powder can be done by wiping the surface with a cloth or rinsing it with water. To minimize dust, dampen the cloth or paper towel with a solvent or rinse it with water first
